Ukiah Natural Foods is guided by The International Cooperative Principles, which include a commitment to work for the sustainable development of local communities. The Co-op Community Grants & Donations program is a reflection of this commitment.

The Community Grants & Donations Committee at Ukiah Natural Foods Co-op is seeking grant applications from local nonprofit organizations. The Co-op has reserved $11,250 from 2022 store profits to award to area nonprofit organizations that help provide food and housing for community members in need, as well as events, programs, and services targeting health, wellness, and nutrition. The Co-op anticipates making several awards ranging from $500 to $1500.

Completed and signed applications must be submitted via email to the Owner Relations Committee, at board@ukiahcoop.com by February 28, 2023. You will receive a confirmation e-mail within five business days. We recommend that recipients send a follow-up email to confirm receipt of their application.

Eligibility, Qualifications, and Requirements:

Prior grant recipients who have NOT completed past requirements (turned in a final report) are ineligible for funds.
Faith-based organizations are excluded from applying.
Community Grant recipients from 2022 are not eligible to participate in 2023.
Grant recipients are required to submit a one-page report and do a short presentation for the board of directors (5-10 minutes) within 18 months of receiving grant funds.

The Donations & Grants Committee will evaluate the submitted applications and make recommendations for awards to the board of directors. Award checks will be mailed to grant winners by late April 2022. Thank you for your interest!
